Description:
Typography is the basic building block of graphic design. Its primary concern is words and the form they take—on a page, in an environment, or on a computer screen—and how that form contributes to the meaning of those words. Typography is the visual voice of language and civilization; it reflects culture from its most serious to most playful. Emphasis will be placed on intertextuality, the relationship between content and form, design as an authorial strategy, and the development of rich, complex typographic structures.
